2020 Is quite a crazy year. Everything has been a little different than usual for a few months now. That also means that this year there is no introduction week for new students! ? But what if you’re going to study in Rotterdam and want to get to know the city? Then the campaign Rotterdamstaatomjoutespringen.nl (Rotterdam is waiting for you) comes into play.
The municipality of Rotterdam set up this new campaign to give future students a warm welcome to Rotterdam. It ensures that they too will truly feel like a “Rotterdammer”! We were asked to develop the website for this campaign. Exciting!
Rotterdam, the city where everything’s possible! The website shows students what the city has to offer. It refers to various initiatives in the field of studying, jobs, hobbies, and more. With the cancellation of their introduction week, informing these students online has become more important. And of course, the website also complies with the accessibility guidelines (WGAC 2.1 AA), so everyone can have a great user experience.
“Now you see that an accessible website really doesn’t have to look boring! Students can use this great website to find everything they need to know about initiatives in Rotterdam.”
The main principles of the website were:
- to provide information about the city of Rotterdam: studying, living, transport, health and leisure;
- to have an accessible and fresh website;
- to have a user-friendly backend.
We already worked with the municipality of Rotterdam for the website of Onderwijs010! This got us off to a flying start. We divided the realization into three phases: exploration, design and development. We worked out the design completely for all templates and the different devices and states. Looks good, doesn’t it?
Themes! By structuring the website with themes, visitors can see what they are looking for at a glance. How we made sure the students will feel welcome in our city? By putting the video of the municipality of Rotterdam at the top of the homepage! You’re welcome.
A clear and attractive website that immediately sucks you into Rotterdam. The sense of “feeling at home” really stands out. Everybody’s welcome!
