ABN AMRO insights: daily information platform has been renewed.
ABN AMRO Insights is the daily information platform, where the bank informs you about relevant economic topics and the consequences for specific sectors. The platform, that is full of in-depth articles, publications and blogs from experts and economists, has been totally renewed. Tam Tam created the new visual design and Level Level developed the brand new version based on WordPress.
The renewed Insights platform provides an optimized user experience on any device and any screen. Content is more visual through bigger graphics and interactive charts. The new header and search functionality connects various content platforms of ABN AMRO Corporate Banking to offers visitors a way to quickly navigate between these websites.
The website was developed ‘mobile-first’ and offers an optimal user experience on any screen or device. The website is completely fluid and adapts to any screen size.
Because the design is image-driven, we use as many async- and lazy loading techniques to ensure acceptable loading speeds. To give you an example we only load images that are really needed. Images load once the visitor enters a specific section of the page. This avoids the wait for 8 seconds to load the entire page.

Interactive charts and graphs
We are quite proud of the interactive charts and graphs we have introduced in Visie op Sectoren. Previously we would prepare about 200 graphs by hand and insert them as images. This year we have introduced Datawrapper. The economists and bloggers of ABN AMRO have a self-hosted tool at their disposal to visualize the data they write about. Input data is validated in real-time and converted into interactive and responsive graphs that can easily be embed in WordPress with oEmbed.
Central header navigation
Through successful content marketing, the number of content websites at ABN AMRO has grown. When talking about usability, we’re also talking about making information accessible. With this release, we have integrated a central navigation- and search functionality for various content platforms of ABN AMRO. The websites ABN AMRO Insights, Verder met Financieren and Grenzeloos Ondernemen all share the same header navigation and search functionality. By using Elastic (formerly ElasticSearch) as a central search functionality one can search realtime through piles of information of the various platforms.

At the previous release the amount of views of articles increased with 400% in three months. We are looking forward to hearing about the results this time!
